Construction and Renovation Updates
September 4, 2009
The Betty and Norman Levan Hall
Web cam project still in progress. Keep checking back!
Crews continue to work on the building’s footings, foundation, and stem walls. A “hot box” has been installed behind Weigle that will host electrical connections to Levan.
A pre-install 10’x10’ mock-up of the concrete floor finish will take place during the next month on the ML Placita near the blue dumpsters. Once cured and polished, the architects can approve the final finish (did you know concrete has to cure for 28 days?).
The blue open-end dumpsters on the Meem Library Placita are to sort construction debris for LEED certification.
Construction hours are 7:00a-3:30p, Monday through Friday.
You will notice new signs on various fences reminding people “Danger, Do Not Enter”. Please keep an eye out for designated walkways and be respectful of the construction boundaries, which are blocked off by fencing. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
Levan Hall is being built as a LEED Silver Certified Building, and is located between the Fine Arts Building and Weigle Hall.
