Construction and Renovation Updates
June 25, 2010
The new home of the St. John's College Graduate Institute is on schedule for a mid-August opening, and is looking wonderful!
Most interior work is nearly complete, including painting, carpeting, windows, and stucco.
The stainless steel vestibule doors will be installed beginning June 29.
The excavation and ramp work between Levan and Weigle is coming along nicely, with stairs in progress.
Boulder placement and landscaping work are still taking place. There have been some design changes to the landscaping that are being incorporated as this part of the project finishes up.
New & upcoming work includes:
- The curb, grading, and paving work behind Weigle will now take place soon.
- The furniture is expected to arrive on July 15! In order to meet LEED criteria, the building will have 28 days to “off-gas.” Occupancy can take place on the 9th day of that 28 days.
- Walking access between FAB and the fishpond placita, which was open during graduation, is closed for now.
