Construction and Renovation Updates

The Betty and Norman Levan Hall, Summer 2009
As this week comes to a close, the trenching work in the lower dorm area should be completed by the end of Friday June 19. Crews will be working this Saturday June 20 to complete the removal of the concrete facing on the exterior wall of Peterson (about 8a-5p).
Next week, we’re very excited to anticipate that the foundation for Levan Hall will be completely dug out by Friday June 26! This should allow for the first footings to be poured the following week of June 29.
The return of hot water to Weigle and Santa Fe Hall has been postponed until the end of June. Also, there is no water and gas service in the Fine Arts Building through the month of June. There is a current plan to turn the water to Weigle off for the day on Saturday June 27.
Please keep an eye out for designated walkways and be respectful of the construction boundaries, which are blocked off by fencing. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available. Levan Hall will be built as a LEED Silver Certified Building, located between the Fine Arts Building and Weigle Hall.

Library Re-Carpeting
The library re-carpeting will be complete, with everything moved back, by Monday June 22. The music room will be completed in the fall.
Fine Arts Building Classroom Renovation
Renovations to FAB 104 are temporarily delayed as we await lighting fixtures, however the room will be ready to use in plenty of time for conference use later this summer, and for the fall semester. See the below photo.
Upper Dorm & Suite Swipe Card Installation
We are hoping the swipe card system for outer doors in the upper dorms and suites will be complete by the end of June.
