Construction and Renovation Updates

Levan Hall, Summer 2009
Preparation for the construction of Levan Hall, which will house the St. John’s College Graduate Institute, has begun!  Levan Hall will be built as a LEED Silver Certified Building, located between the Fine Arts Building and Weigle Hall.

The dirt access road behind the library has been bulldozed, as has the center of the track, where parking will be provided for construction personnel.  The bridge between the Fine Arts Building and Peterson Student Center is to come out today (5/29), and the “land bridge” between FAB and Weigle Hall is expected to be removed next week (the bricks have already been removed in anticipation). 

The next few weeks should also bring the removal of the wall between the fishpond placita and the Levan Hall site, creating a more open central campus.  More details to be announced!

Please keep an eye out for designated walkways and be respectful of the construction boundaries, which are blocked off by fencing.  Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.

Library Re-Carpeting

This project has begun in earnest and is moving along quite well.  The library is currently closed, but you can see photos of this process below.

Fine Arts Building Classroom Renovation

Renovations to FAB 104 have begun, as well.  A wall has been removed to create extra space in the room, allowing it to be used for larger seminars.  We will continue to keep you posted, right here.
