Masters of Fine Arts Program

Seattle Pacific University (SPU) is the home of Image Journal, which has held the Glen Workshop at St. John's College for the past several years. For the sixth summer, SPU's MFA program will begin its academic year at St. John's College. Students will participate in a variety of classes, as well as some of the Glen Workshop sessions. Information for SPU MFA Participants
Your group will meet in the Junior Common Room (JCR), on the second floor of Peterson Student Center (PSC), #1 on the campus map. Break-out sessions will take place in the JCR, Private Dining Room, and Fireside Lounge (all in PSC), room 104 of the Fine Arts Building (#8), and in classrooms in the Chamisa Building (#38), which is uphill from the center of campus, near the suites. The Bookstore, Switchboard and Coffee Shop are also located in PSC, on the first floor.

Students will be housed in the upper and lower dorm areas, surrounded by Glen Workshop participants, St. John's undergrad and graduate students, and other conference groups. In the upper dorm area, McCune has a few single rooms, several two-room doubles, and a few triple dorm rooms (# 21). The upper dorm area is uphill from Peterson, about a three or four minute walk. Farther up the hill, SPU faculty will be housed in Suites 4 and 5 (#’s 40-41), as well as an apartment. In the lower dorm area, just a few minutes downhill from PSC, the dorms Polyhymnia and Urania, (#’s 29 & 35) will be used, primarily for single dorm rooms. Participants will have three meals per day in the dining hall, which is located on the first floor of PSC.

*Construction note for FAB and MEEM LIBRARY: please note that the college is undergoing a construction project between FAB and Weigle Hall (tower building). The MEEM LIBRARY Placita will be used as a staging area and there will be vehicular traffic behind and around FAB.
