q-bio Summer School
July 21 – August 6, 2013

St. John's College is happy to welcome back the q-bio Summer School (QBSS) to campus for its second session with us.  This summer school exposes graduate students, post-docs, and others to a broad survey of work in quantitative biology and modeling techniques relevant to specific areas, and participants stay on to participate in the q-bio conference.  For information regarding applications and conference details, please check here.

Information for q-bio Summer School Participants
For the first week of your program, you will meet primarily in the Great Hall, located on the second floor of Peterson Student Center (#1 on the campus map). Peterson Student Center also houses the dining hall, coffee shop, bookstore, and switchboard.  For both weeks, small groups will meet  in the Winiarski Seminar Building (#54 on the campus map). This new building, part of the Winiarski Student Center, is located at the west end of campus, across from the lower dorm area. Some meetings will also take place in the Evans Science Laboratory (ESL; #10). ESL is located in the center of campus near Peterson.

q-bio Summer School participants will be housed primarily in the lower dorm area in Calliope and Polyhymnia (#’s 25 & 29). These dorms have mostly single dorm rooms, and are located slightly downhill from Peterson Student Center, just a minute or two walk from Peterson. Later arrivals to the QBSS program will be housed in the upper dorm area, uphill from Peterson (about a three minute walk), in Driscoll and Anderson (#’s 14 & 19).  These dorms consists of semi-private double rooms, triple rooms, and a few single rooms. All housing includes three meals a day in the Dining Hall through Tuesday August 6, then two meals/day during the q-bio conference.
