q-bio Conference on Cellular Information Processing
August 6 - 10, 2008
Arriving Wednesday August 6 - Departing Sunday August 10
St. John's College is very excited to welcome back this conference sponsored by the Los Alamos National Labs' Center for Nonlinear Studies back for its second summer. Close to 200 people from around the world will meet to discuss, among other things, detailed modeling of biochemical systems to understand, predict, and test general principles underlying the organization of cellular signaling. For more information please check here.
Information for q-bio Participants
Your group will meet in the Great Hall on the second floor of Peterson Student Center, #1 on the campus map. The bookstore, coffee shop, switchboard, and dining hall are also located in Peterson. Poster sessions and software demonstrations will take place in the Junior and Senior Common Rooms, on either side of the Great Hall.
q-bio participants will be housed throughout campus in single and double dorm rooms, suites and apartments. In the lower dorm area, guests will stay in mostly single rooms in Calliope, Polyhymnia, and Urania (#'s 25, 29 & 35). These dorms are just a short walk downhill from Peterson Student Center. Upper dorms Murchison (2nd floor only), Kirby, Huffman, McCune, and Wagner (#'s 16-18, 21-22) all have a few single rooms, and several one-room or semi-private double rooms. The upper dorm area is slightly uphill from Peterson, about a three to five minute walk. Also reserved for your group are suites one, two, three, four, and five, (#'s 39-43) and several of our two-bedroom apartments.
All housing includes breakfast and lunch each day in the Dining Hall. Also check Accommodations.
