St. John's College Summer Academy
June 24 – 29, 2012 and
July 1 – 6, 2012
Arriving Sunday June 24 and departing Saturday June 30 or Arriving Sunday July 1 and departing Saturday July 7 (some to stay over for both weeks)
Due to the great success of the St. John's College inaugural Summer Academy in 2011, the Admissions Office will once again welcome rising high school juniors and seniors from around the country for not only one week of experiencing the St. John’s Great Books program, but two! Students will have the opportunity to read and discuss original texts in small discussion classes. See here for more information.
Information for Summer Academy Participants
This group will meet primarily in classrooms in the Fine Arts Building (FAB; #8 on the campus map), with a lab class in Evans Science Laboratory (ESL; #10). Take our virtual tour of Peterson Student Center, the college's main building, which houses the Coffee Shop, Switchboard, Dining Hall, Bookstore, and several meeting rooms (#1 on the campus map).
Participants will stay in the upper dorm area, located uphill from Peterson Student Center, about a three minute walk. Meem, Driscoll, and Jones (#’s 13-14 & 23) consist of several two-room doubles, a few three-room triples, and a couple single dorm rooms. Meals are available in the dining hall as per the Admissions schedule. Also check Accommodations.
